9 Month Checkup

Mateo is now 9 months old. He weighs 18 lbs. 13 oz. and is 27 inches long. He is in the 20th percentile in height, weight, and head circumference. He makes consonant sounds, stands with a little bit of help, crawls like the crazy dude he is, cruises (walks while holding onto furniture), and loves to scream. He eats really well (cereals, fruits, vegetables), and is still apprehensive about sippy cups. Mat also has started practicing his pincer grasp (thumb and forefinger) and recently has started to make dancing movements (bouncing up and down). He can occasionally wave "bye-bye." Dr. Rawal says he's got a strong healthy heart, grows steadily, and looks very healthy and happy. :-)

Mat only has two to three weeks left with his DOC band, and while this is exciting it also makes me a little sad, as we have come to know the ladies at Cranial Technologies very well and will miss visiting with them each week. (Okay, I will miss this more than he will.)

Since Mat was 7 months old I've been saying I already have a toddler because he was so active. Now that he's 9 months old, I realize I really DO have a toddler! How did this happen so quickly?

The cranial girls will miss him more and may ask for his number.
