Gotta be quick...

Seeing as I have a "talking" child upstairs in the crib, I gotta make this update quick.

I have been out of school (yay for summer vacation!) for a total of 4 real days now - and it's getting expensive!! With all this time (aside from caring for Mat - which is enough in itself some days) I've been tackling some home improvement projects. It hasn't been anything too big, just rearranging furniture, getting new lamps, new barstools, picture frames, planting new flowers outside, etc. My goal is to get the house organized by the end of summer so when my REAL job of being a stay-at-home-mom begins in September (cause I'm still getting paid through August!) I'll be able to dedicate more time to Mateo and his development since he'll be a bit older by then. I'm trying to get him on a schedule, but some days are easier than others.

Speaking of, "doodie" calls. (Hehe... pretty good pun if I say so myself!)

One more (cause he's just so darned cute!)...

Only three days left of school! I'm a little worried about what I'll do with all my free time this summer, but I'm sure he'll fill it up. I've got some house projects in mind, too. And of course there's the pool to keep in mind. I will really miss my school and my students. It's been a great year teaching there.

My mom has been in town for a while watching the baby while we go to work. Thanks to Rafi, she and I will both be enjoying a 90 minute massage at the end of this week! He's a really great husband; he gave me the CUTEST frame that has a photo of Mat and his footprint for Mother's Day (the footprint is of Mat's, not of Rafi's - which would be really hard to fit in a frame. HA!). Mom has been really good about helping us to eat healthier. We needed that.

Yay for summer!

Long overdue update.

It's been a while since I updated, so here's the scoop! Mat is doing really well. He's growing like a weed! Last weekend we went to the Wells' annual Cinco de Mayo party, and he was quite the sight in his little guayabera (as seen on the left with Ed). He is now sleeping roughly 6 hours at night - which makes it really nice on Rafi since he is staying at home with him while I work.

Speaking of work, this will officially be my last year of work for a while. We've made the (difficult) decision for me to be a stay at home mom for a while. I can't tell you how much I will miss my students and school. However, I will still be hanging around there doing some mentoring/tutoring work now and then. I'm also interested in starting an after-school 5k training program in the spring semester. They can't get rid of my that easily!

Rafi's parents were here the last several weeks. Tita was very busy cooking us all the goodness over the 2.5 weeks she was here. So much for dieting!! It was all delicious and a very nice thing to come home to. We thank her so much for helping us out!! And thanks to Luis for pouring the wine - although I only needed a glass to feel it! I think the Outlet Malls will also miss them. We are both thankful that they were able to visit and look forward to seeing them in Panama in December.

This Monday Rafi will return to work. Since I have one and a half weeks of school left, my mother will be coming to stay with us to help out with the baby. Thanks to her in advance!
